i agree with greedo, barsr are way too packed. i just stick to party's.
one thing i do steer way clear of is the parade in southie.
a snippet of any conversation you overhear at it:
'yo, fitzy, wheres murph?'
'ah, dood, i think murph is off with sully, dood'
'that shits boga dood. maybe those bastahds ah at the ell.'
'dood, thats a fucking smaht idea, dood. lets hit it up'
'while we ah at it, lets get some killians and pound em. then we can break the bottles and attack some unsuspectin people, dood.'
