Thermo-Reactive Inks

I looked into this a bit last year - there's a co. here in the UK ( http://www.selfadhesivelabels.co… ) who make thermo-reactive labels. These were inks that would change within a moderate range of a few degrees, I was after something that would indicate an 'ideal' cold range and 'ideal' hot range. I think the colour change was a 'one time deal' - ie. it would change to indicate a particular heat range, but then not reset when the temperature normalised.,
They said they'd have to order the inks in specifically, with 'each one' costing in the region of £300 for, essentially, a 'year's worth'. The dye has a 6 month shelflife, within which it must be set. Whatever, I worked out it would cost about 25p (40cnt?) per label, with our spec including 2 thermo-ranges (one for cold, one for hot).
My intended use was to indicate that a product had been exposed to a temp range that would've damaged it.
Am still considering doing this... just waiting for confirmation, or otherwise in a change in the law here! ;)
