sounds like you had a good one para!

On jevad's topic, my report cards changed from getting the "Able To Dress Oneself" box proudly ticked at age 5, to the deputy head of my school telling my parents at 13 that i was the biggest liar he'd ever met, and telling me that i'd never amount to anything (that was cos i got suspended for a week for spiking the coke with bourbon at a religious end-of-term party). Funnily enough that deputy head got sacked a year later for having an affair with one of the religious teachers who was supposedly "married to god", whilst his wife was in hospital with cancer. I guess he must have been going through a difficult period.

Also 2 years ago i had a bit of a jevad moment and thought "who can i remember first encouraging my creative side as a kid?" and i remembered this teacher i had when i was 8 - she'd held up something i'd worked on for ages and said it was wonderful and told the whole class i was the "official class artist" *bless!* - things like that make such a difference when you're a kid. i think that was one of the first times i started to think of myself as "a creative"!

anyway i found her address online and wrote her a letter saying thanks and telling her what i'm up to. got an email back saying she'd just retired and was feeling all depressed until my letter arrived, it was nice to let her know that she made a difference in my life.
