Seattle seemed pretty great when i visited- Ballard was the best neighborhood - i could easily pick that one as a prime place to live. You've chosen SF over seattle? if you can afford SF then you should have no problem affording seattle. Coming from the desert - the grey scares me, now if san diego would ever be affordable...
