if you are looking for something to record streaming radio stations..
look no further than streamripper

for just "any" sounds...
try http://www.sound-recorder.com/
make sure you double click the little speaker icon for volume adjustment, go to options, select recording, click ok, then make sure wave out, stereo out, or wave mix, main out (something like that) is selected.. instead of one of the other options.. .. and record away..
