this is a very practical riddle to understand
always subtract the negligable amount from the original total
for instance:
i'm splitting a bill with manny but owe him 30 bucks
500 bill
divided by 2 = 250 each
normally one would think i should just tack 30 to mine and subtract 30 from his.
but that actually =s 60
to only pay 30 more you subtract it from the original number and then divide it by 2
blah blah blah - i just saved you hundreds.
