Thanks y'all, A few things to try there over the weekend.
The idea of tryin to install one, then two, then three, cards - inorder to identify a dodgy stick - no good! These babies have to be installed in pairs! so I have 2 x 128, and 2 x 512's.
Anyway, Thanks again everyone, there's a few avenues to explore here before I get Apple to come along and change this farker!
