I have to agree with MotivDesign.
Samsung monitors are one of the best monitors I worked in 7 years now. I always praised Sony and Trinitron technology but I have to admit that Samsung offers superior picture quality + much lower price then Sony. Basically you are paying more for the name with Sony. I got a 19" Samsung 900NF since it's the PRO series with much higher refresh rates while 955DF is mid-class series, but nonetheless the quality is amazing. I'm getting a Samsung 1200NF 22" monitor in the very near future and I can tell you that for $600 there is nothing that can give me that kind of professional quality.
My advice get a Samsung and forget about everything else. You won't go wrong with any model but my recommendation is NF series (Natural Flat).
