Most underrated monitors out there: Samsung.
The DynaFlat series are excellent. I've got a 19" 955DF and it's the best crt I've ever used. Been using it for almost 3 years and it's as if I bought it yesterday. Nice blacks, nice whites, good color reproduction, clear as hell. Two of them in a dual configuration is incredibly nice and incredibly affordable. You can get them online for $250 shipping included.
At least take a look at one in a store before you drop money on a Trinitron. Trinitron tubes are nice, but those two horizontal lines annoy the hell out of me.
