Yeah, I don't know what those guys are talking about. A 21" Dell Trinitron for $700 is a superb deal. I've got one new one and one old one (I've had for almost 3 years), both are excellent.
View Sonic is good, but from what I've seen (and I've seen plenty large monitors working with 3D all the time), the Dell is the best deal out there. Make sure you are getting the newest Trinitron tube in the Dell, it sounds waaaaay too cheap (used?). Also, keep in mind that View Sonic makes several different models, some for the home consumer, some for the 3D pro. The highend ones are well above a $1000. Take a look at PC Magazine, PC World, CNET, Computer Arts, etc., for reviews.
Dell makes a great 20" LCD for $999, which again, is cheaper than any comparable manufacturer.
Until I can afford that 23" Sony LCD, the Dell's are the best for my cash (I've also got a 17" Dell Trinitron, non flat screen, that's about 5 years old is still perfect).
