i grew up in south OC not far from SD...
there isnt much to do there unless youre there as a student.
the che cafe is on the UCSD campus.. and is a volunteer run venue that is the sister venue to the one i used to work at in orange county called koo's art cafe.
im sure all the people i used to know there are all graduated.
you can surf... but i wouldn't suggest it for a few weeks after the rain, unless you like bacteria.
im not sure which bars are cool... but be careful. there is a marine base north of san deigo city. you can walk into a bar and be in marine land. *HOOUAH!
