i've done it with an onRollOver, then a gotoAndPlay till the roll-out transition happened, then stopped on a keyframe with an _xmouse detection sort of deal, and if my mouse was outside of it, a gotoAndPlay of a tuck-back-in sort of deal. shoot an email if you still need help.
