you said there was no contract? if not... go bakc and say this... "later jerk!"
no seriously- i am seeing this more and more these days- one man shows taking on small jobs and then either burning their clients and giving the crap- OR being taken advantage of because they either didnt take the 30 minutes to write up a contract stating project expectations and agreements... for god sakes for the sake of designers and the industry everywhere- make a contract! however... now that you are in this situation- you best get a copy of whatever you signed and make sure there is no sub-sub-sub paragraph stating anything concerning intellectual property rights and or what rights you have as a "student worker" I know some universities claim that all work done by students for the university (ie- they are being paid as a student employee) was property of the university- it is not as you would think in the "real world" you are not a contractor (especially if you didnt bring a contract to the table! DOH!) so that really limits your argument... either way the prof. doesnt have much of a leg to stand on other than the fact that he could tell his teacher buddies to fail you or make your life miserable... good luck... in the end would it really matter ? did he pay you? if so let it go..... and learn your lesson... "always cover your ass" cause your makin us ("designers") look bad....
