those other 'racism' threads both underline and epitomize the very problem that exists today: peoples inability to communicate. this communication is hindered by oversensitivity, general hatred and apathy. Furthermore, miscommunication is propogated by the uneducated tongue and by humans doing what is instinctive and natural: speaking out of emotion.

so do we silence those who don't know what they're talking about? and who's to say what dictates the boundaries of this definitive level of knowledge? no, it can't be done. so it should continue that everyone has a right to have their voice heard and speak their mind.

so what's left to us for accountability? how about a little thick skin? how about respecting others voices and opinions no matter how much we might disagree. and how about some tact when discussing such controversial issues? is this too much to ask? if so, we deserve the stress and tension that we've contributed - every bit of it.
