    I agree. Don't use fontbook. I just quit using Suitcase also as it was not working very well. Instead, I now manually load fonts as I need them, which is a royal pain, but at least it is one less problem I have to worry about.

    As for font managment in general, here is the link to an excellent article on where fonts are located on OSX and which ones you can dump.

    Also, I think the article mentions keeping Monaco in the system/fonts folder. This font is also used by Safari when you want to View Source and by Flash MX2004 for actionscript (I know you can change the font for viewing actionscript, but on my computer the fonts seem to get squished and become illegible).
