well yeah it's not really selling the product anymore in most cases, although the product still has to be good, you know no matter how good your salespitch will be if it can't be matched with the product it won't succeed at all. anyways, it's more about selling a "feeling", you know brandbuilding and such but that has more to do with the fact that they need to set themself apart from their competition. and they can't do that anymore on quality and/or price. know what i mean? and if you look really closely you'll even see that people are willing to pay extra for a brand, for a feeling.
can marketing make better products? yeah for sure because part of marketing is finding out what your customers wants and needs are. marketing has lead to the invention of the cd player for instance.
