I always am intimidated, but always works out OK. They're professionals. I just had to negotiate my hiring salary and I was a bit nervous.
They give the whole- we're already going really high, can't do anything more. But then they met me half-way on my counteroffer and I was stiked.
Just ask for what you want. I'm sure it's fair, and if they really want to keep you they'll do what it takes.
