The pope's stance on condoms is in direct relationship to the moral of his religion. His influence on such a topic is mute considering there is no spread of Aids and likewise if you follow that moral relationship the rest of the way where pre-martial sex is frowned upon. People who are spreading desease through sexual inter course with many partners are not neglecting condoms because the Pope no likey- don't be so naive.
What he has had an influence on is the liberation of Poland from the Nazi's- a political stance against communism in European nations, a peace settlement with China, substainal involvement in the UN, efforts of Peace and civil unity amoung all religions and political powers... the list goes on.
I'm sure God is gonna be mad that he did not embrace people sticking their dicks in everything with a piece of latex on them, but I sense a far greater ignorance then that on this website daily.
