My point is, no iraqis knew who was going to be on the ballot until they submitted it. How democratic is that?

--------------------dobs...
this is an 'interim' vote so-to-speak...
... it's up to the elected to draw up a constitution of sorts - put it in place - strengthen their police and military - then turn around and have another vote in a year once all this is set up.
Shit, if this goes as fast as it's supposed to - this country has a better chance of pulling themselves out of the hole faster than a good portion of Europe did after WWII - you know, that one war where the United States bailed out the world... but how soon people forget what happened a measly 60+ years ago... and how soon those countries and Organizations who I'll not name (Germany, France.. .the U.N.) were so quick TO CONFIRM via intelligence that Iraq had WMD's - yet sat back and decided to do nothing about it when their own intel said that Iraq was harboring terrorists... creating and storing WMD's... ummm... let's see - breaking the no-fly zone... shooting at 'allied' airplanes that were patroling the area... breaking U.N. and other International laws resulting in multiple sanctions etc etc... I need not go on.
No wait, I will go on. Kerry, Kennedy (not the two dead good ones... but the drunk murdering one), the U.N., Germany, France... and others all said that 'based on their intelligence', SoDamnInsane (that's Saddam to the sarcastically impared) was harboring terrorists... paying to help them... creating WMD's along w/further WMD research.
Sorry - I can't hold out any longer here... I gotta say this -
After the bullshit that went down on 9/11... the countless terrorism in Israel, the bombing of the trains in Spain... ENOUGH is enough.
I'm so dumb-founded how the Dem's can call a man like George W. Bush a tyrant or a dictator - but then bitch about SoDamnInsane (douche-bag otherwise known as Saddam) having his fair day in court. (yes, that's off topic... but a big topic in the news). Bush and many other Americans are fed up w/the bullshit of terrorism - other countries have taken many more blows.. the U.S. only a couple (you do recall the first World Trade Center bombing, yes? - how quickly that was forgotten)... the only diff. between the U.S. and the rest of the countries that have had to deal w/terrorism - is that the U.S. isn't going to put up with this shit anymore. It's not world policing... it's wiping out those that kill to instill fear.
... and before you spin that the U.S. has been doing it for years... blah blah blah... YOU'RE RIGHT. There are many things I agree w/the Dem's on - and many that I agree w/the Repub's on... I just happen to agree w/preemptive attacks if it means removing people who cut peoples heads off in public just to scare others.... and that includes removing those who harbor those people and provide them with weapons.
This nonsense that the U.S. won't go near Korea because they don't have anything material to offer them really makes me sick... stop tying oil to this -- that is unless you want to tie the U.N., Germany.. France etc to the Oil for Food scandal... then we can talk. So far there is no proof that the U.S. is making a shitload of money on the oil. That's going to be Iraq's bread for the years to come - it's theirs and will remain theirs. (Michael Moore is a fat fucking liar and I can show you countless points that he's taken and twisted if I must back up my statement)
Sorry to be so damned crass - I'm really tired of this arguement. All this Bush bashing and continued negativity will get the Dem's NO WHERE... you lost the election - now, grow up and show some support for those that are out their risking their lives to remove threats to you, your neighbors and your loved ones in other countries etc.
Dem's have so MANY valid points to share - drop the fact that you lost the election and stand up and show some support... there are just a bunch of sore bitchy whiny losers out there.... MOVE ON... not everything is a conspiracy.
*hugs everyone ;)
