the only solution at this point was elections, good for the iraqis that voted. But listening to people cry out freedom is making me sick.

What's wrong w/crying out freedom? Iraqies apparently want freedom and a new Gov given the fact that 60% of them showed up to vote. They're very brave - and I think that virtu was right in his original post - it's a historical day... these people stood up for their desire to be free, even while in fear of DEATH. Here in the states - people bitched and moaned over having to wait 3 hour waits in line... over there - they smiled (even saw a little dancing in the streets - maybe that was stock footage.. who knows ;) ).
Now - dob's solution is exactly what happened... great! If civil war breaks out - well, then you're a bunch of gifted prophets. :)
I just want some optimism and solutions - always finding something wrong w/a postive move forward (the elections) gets nothing done.
I realize most feel virtu shows up on NT to stir shit (which he / she does)... that's lame.
... step back from the fact that this is virtu's thread - and try and find some positivity here. All the negativity in the media is really bad for those who's lives are in harms way - the troops... the iraqies.. etc.
