Wow... I don't think a thread has ever bothered me as much as this one.
I can't believe that any Canadian in here would say such negative things about any place in Canada.
If you (2cent) want to pretend that culture is a bunch of yuppies standing around in converted wearhouse talking about modern art.... but I think you've forgotten about the "culture" that makes canada great.
Its the people.... it is the general openess of people that seems to be the one constant.
I've lived from PEI all the way to vancouver and I'm always surpirsed how nice people can be in this country. Calgary is no exception... its another town full of amazing people. To say that it has no culture is just ridiculous... there's obviously alot of cultural things to do on a nightly basis... you've just decided that its not as trendy as montreal or toronto... and therefore, not as culturally significant.
I can undestand why leah defended her town so staunchly. She lives there, she obviously enjoys living there... she's probably met lots of interesting people. So for you (2 cent) to sit there and tell her where she lives is a piece of shit is insulting.
And I love this country waaaaaay to much for us to be having a pissing contest on who has the best town in Canada.... cause if I had to pick and have to say Golden is the best place in Canada :)
Sorry for the long rant... i was just pissed off by alot of what 2cent and others said.
