I tryed it out in my office to help out with our image archive. I found that if I organize everything once within picasa I can overwrite the database file on everyone elses comp. Since I control the archive, any changes made are made by me and I just keep updating everyone else. It is handy becuase when you find the file you want you can right click and choose locate on disk.
Mind you the only reason this works is because we all use the same drive letter for our file server.
Conclusion.. handy way to organize and find images fast. Downfall is that if you have a huge archive you have to turn off the media detector or it will kill your machine by always trying to update the database. Also it can only be used for thumb views.
