Disasters happen, because Mother Nature and the elements (even though we are part of it, which sounds a bit funny) could give a f*cking rat's ass about us. They are random and you cannot predict them, most of the time, until the very last moment. The Earth is under dynamic equilibrium and if some humans go down during some natural process, it's also natural. Take a look at the Dinos.
