Sometimes it's a case of educating the people you work with.
For example on Friday we had a Design meeting with a client which didn't go the way I would have liked. The project manager for this particular job is also the technical director, and at this meeting he started presenting the designs and suggesting changes to the client without consulting me. Decisions were being made and I was being treated like a gif monkey, even though I am an art director.
The thing is I haven't been working here long – I don't think he was trying to step on my toes, he just doesn't know that this is not right. So I tried my hardest not to be narky in front of the client and then politely requested a meeting with him afterwards, and we talked about it. I'm sure next time will be different.
It's so important to communicate if you are not happy otherwise you get frustrated and bitter. I've been that way before and it is a waste of energy.
