well... there was this one time I was out art-directing a photoshoot for a magazine that I used to work for...
... the photographer wanted to set up the shot, do the whole poloraid thing etc. etc...
... he refered to the final subject (the model) as 'subject X'.
"I need to shoot subject Y first in order to figure out light etc. etc... then when we get it right - we insert subject X", said the photographer with a hint of playfulness.
Sooo... I got this idea - why not build a site for photographers where they can post all their 'subject Y' images - you know, the photo assistant or the art director or just some poor lutz off the street...
... but then I got to thinking - why not take that a step further and build a site of videos that are just amature attempts at either stories or simple art-peices... where if they were really good peices... they should then take them to the 'subject X' level.
Does this make any sense?
