also, this one i swear to although it may sound far fetched. in high school i was ranked in the state for golf way before golf was cool. the jocks called me a 'stroker'. fuck em.
anyways, at marengo ridge golf course in marengo illinois i drove the green on a 363 yard par 4. the wind was against my back and the gods of golf must have been on my side. the ball rolled for a good 20 or so yards and landed a few feet on the green.
8 years later i was on that golf course paired up with a random 3 other guys, all grandfathers. i still can hit a ball a country mile and as we approached the same tee, they talked of a kid in high school years ago from genoa kingston (my high school) who drove the green in a competition. awesome feeling. i told them it was me and proceeded to drive the ball within 5 feet of the green. to bad i 4 putted.
