    Easy way for tourists to tell if someone's from Edinburgh or Glasgow:

    Listen to them talk for a while and listen out for "by the way."

    If it comes at the start of a sentence they're from Edinburgh. If it comes at the end they're from Glasgow.

    e.g.
    Edinburgh: "By the way, I'm going to slice your lips off with my Stanley knife unless you give me your jacket."

    Glasgow: "I'm gonnae slice yer lips aff wi my Stanley knife unless ye gies yer jaiket, by the way."
