in the earths existence i'm sure it's started over many many times. take the dinosaurs for instance. what killed them off, suddenly? not sure if it will be in my lifetime, but if it is i'd better go throw out all the porn under my bed. how embarrasing if 100000 years from now the next people find all my porn and label us a sick species. haha.
