once when i was 17, for drinking on the street... no big deal, they held me for some hours and then call my parents. no as intense as iDp's, for sure.
and about knowing people, i know a few. one of the guys i used to longboard with has spent more than 10 years in and out (he's about 34). last time it was for beating this guy nearly to death "cos he owed some drug money and wasn't going to pay". and when he was explaining this to me, he added with this most innocent face "and the judge got it all wrong! i wasn't going to kill him for that, i just wanted to leave him very badly injured, nothing more..."
he was good at longboarding though...pretty mad.
