I've been poking around on design forums since I dunno... '98 maybe, and these threads hating on trends and overused graphic treatments have always been a constant. I don't understand why people continue to discuss the topic.
Why do you people feel the need to point out the obvious and almost always I've noticed, with a negative attitude.
If you are truly bothered by trends, as I am with these threads about trends, then yes you do have the right to express yourself and this I understand. What I can't seem to understand is how you can be bothered by the choices another artist/designer makes in his work enough to complain about it on the internet.
I feel as though you are all running in circles. If you take your practice as an artist/designer seriously then I would think you would be able to find more important things to be concerned about. I say stop complaining about trends and focus your attention onto your own work.
And just to be clear, I'm not saying all discussion of trends and such is an unhealthy one. Just lose the negativity and be progressive or why bother?
