for something like this I think you should:
figure out how many hours you are going to work on it and multiply it by a reasonable rate. + 1/4 full fee for expenses. you can phone design companies in your region asking you want to do a similar site and seeing how much they charge you. its likely that they wont design as well as yourself so bear that in mind.
I guess $50+ per hour sounds okay. £25-£35. but really depends on client and your hours. be realistic but dont underpay yourself.couple of tips from agonising days waiting for clients.
find out exactly what they want first.
get their printed material if they have any, ask for their content to fill the pages, pictures/ menu's etc.
draw up a specification for them..and state total costs. once they agree to that write up a small contract between yourself and them, this can be a one pager
ask for half or a third of money upfront, and arrange the next payments. see if they are okay with all that. and start designing.
