I think that guy is way off the mark.
Most ipod user have 1 ipod.
Each of these iPods serve a different purpose.
Big ones - Have all your music with you on the go or at home.. but not really intense activities.
Mini - For those who want a stylish smaller ipod for active on the go life style.
Flash - For those who want to grab their music and snowboard, run, skate etc and go on quick trips without having to worry about anything... Grab... take off... listen.
Most people will have 1 or the other.. some might have a ipod and flash ... but in the end.. they are for differnt lifestyles...
Apple hasnt told us ever we need them all.. just giving options for differnt life styles.
Over all I think its great to have choice.. and above all have awesome integration with iTunes
