Try asking him. I can't help but think about the episode of South Park where they were all wearing the conjoined twin things the help the nurse not feel like an outcast and it back-fired on them.
Of course, your hair will grow back and the kids who get hair donations aren't always as lucky. The biggest motivation for me doing it when I did was that my favourite aunti went through chemo because of breast cancer. Probably the least vain woman you could have ever met, but on the days when chemo made her feel really bad, little things, like losing her hair just made the days worse.
