here are my two cents:
i did some research on thesmokinggun.com. as it turns out, they are owned by court tv, and they in turn are owned by aol time warner.

i think it's safe to say that most people who post on nt are skeptical of mass media, especially time warner [ i certainly am ]. regardless of racial, class, or gender issues, these large media companies are infamous for skewing news stories to further their own growth, or to prevent the public from knowledge that could hinder their growth. i don't doubt that the 'exposing' of michael jackson's story as posted on thesmokinggun.com and other news sites owned by time warner aren't tremendously biased.
it's also true that michael jackson is signed to epic records, a sub-label of sony records. sony and time-warner are rivals. it seems likely that time-warner is trying to halt sales of michael's cds. considering he sells so many, if even a percentage of people stopped buying them, it would mean losses for sony.
that said, i still believe michael jackson to be guilty of sexual misconduct at least to some degree. although there is no 'hard' evidence such as video tapes, there are countless testimonies against him. i am not saying he actually had sex with the boys, although i wouldn't doubt it. the fact is that even just the things he's said to the boys constitutes sexual abuse.
michael is clearly living in a fantasy world. whether this be due to immense fame or not does not negate the fact that he cannot recognize the boundaries between fantasy and reality. c'mon, he lives in neverland. and remember when he dangled his child over the balcony? clearly he is deranged.
son, i hope you realize that this forum is the furthest place that you could find from those who blindly accept mass media. we are all individuals who think for ourselves, and are the first to question what is fed to us.
nevertheless i think it's obvious that jacko is a nutjob and he has crossed the boundary of acceptable behaviour with minor boys.
