focker,
that is a great deal of banners. you have to consider:
-are they template designs, meaning are you going to design one look and apply that to all 40 or how many designs will you work with or is every single banner going to have a different look
-how long it will take you for each banner (start to finish roughly)
-you can also consider (depending on how you work/contract) if you will be handing over the .fla files
-important: have a solid outline of what you have to achieve so that you're not stuck in the end giving away 8+ hours revising 40+ bannerslike others mentioned, flash is a bit more and the price will be determined by a)the above and any other points you feel are relevant, b)how much you charge an hour, c)how long it will take you.
look at how long those older banner took you to complete and what you charged.
