iDp, you already know my thoughts. It's a beautiful, clean site. But I'd take into consideration using a more readable font for large blocks of copy like some others have said.
And on the subject of "instant gratification" You may also consider giving a quick thumbnail overview of your projects,--featured projects even to keep the load small--after you click "WORK" to begin with. It's just nice to have that ability for the eye to quickly go to something it sees interesting as far as your projects go.
