    hey bucky...

    1) make sure you really are square with your manager/higher-ups. (just pays to be in the good with the bosses, you know how it is..)

    2) be careful not to complain to much to them about this guy...
you can, in confidence, tell your manager about the problem, but ya want to make sure it doesn't enter the realm of 'and then he did this, and then i did this and back and forth..
that'll make him feel like he's hired a couple of children and he might think less of you...keep it straight, and business like..he'll appreciate that...

    3) my old man used to say, keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer..
and that is something i've learned over the years to be absolutely true and useful.
    it works.
this guy is a punk..and i wouldn't be surprised if he is lacking in the friend dept.
invite the dicksmack out for lunch.
    or for a beer.
get to really really know him.
THAT is where you're gonna find your ammo.
the more you know about him, the more chances you have to either a) bury the hatchet and make nice and get it all over with...
    or
    b) find (or manufacture) some dirt on the guy..and really bury the hatchet..in his fuckin head...ya dig...
get his wise mouth ass canned.

but be very careful about this kinda high level office politics..

you're best bet, to be sure, is to just ignore the fucker and leave him be.
he wins every time he gets a rise out of you...
every response, even if it's 'oh, i wont' diginify what you just said...' type thing is a victory to him, cuz i guarantee that what ever you say, he'll have one more zinger...

    ignore the fuck.

sounds like he's just desperate for attention..
