Combine the ideas. Build the frame using konas (quite detailed) frame concept. Paint in the background. Then lean it aginst a wall (inside... it is winter here in the N.Hemi.) and shoot your projector. See if any business geeks you know will let you borrow their computer projector. They are very bright and you just project up your Illy file and use Illy's zoom to fit the size to the framed out sign. Paint and then ask some freinds to help you mount it. Buy them drinks afterwards.
