nice layout!
My only real issues with are are type-related.
I think the 2005 shoudl be smaller than the personal portfolio.
The introduction, contact news and featured headings are good - but I would make the news and featured ones a little darker as they are on a darker background.
Swap the dates style with the news heading style - ie Dates bold or caps and headings in the lighter small type.
Also agree about teh blue - v. hard to read.
