great thread guys, i can definately relate dfd.
I work full time, which is good but this year i tried to do some work on the side, some for me (personal/experience stuff) and some for a refugee advocacy agency. I enjoyed it and got a lot out of it but I just became so busy and got so tired all the time, my lifestyle suffered so i've cut it back.
i don't think coments like "design has been crap for 10/15 years since post modernism" either make any sense ... or add anything to a discussion. They represent the kind of closed mind that will stop creative progress.
Additionally, not a day goes by when i don't see at least one peice of design and say "hey, thats cool"
...
That makes me happy with my chosen profession.
