(re:sagmeister) I think you might be mistaking him with the self promotional peices, and even in those there is a message to be had. His client work is nothing short of amazing and very selfless. The title of his book is also a double meaning to me..I think he likes the playfullness of design as evident in many of his pieces, but I think he also hides the playfullness in a mask of self indugence. It's that double meaning that also lends to creativity and mystery which are very important aspects of design.
