i don't have an mp3 player, except for a portable movie player that can play MP3s too. with what i've read in these threads, iPod wouldn't be the best decision. features like automatic normalization of songs is priceless to me. i can't count how often i have to change the volume for each song. and a 40gb iPod costs $400? comon now. and having to use iTunes to handle all your song transfers is stupid. plain and simple. it's just a portable storage device made to play songs, there's no reason you need to go through iTunes. so i guess for me, since i'm not a decked out apple person, i'd go with something else. if you've already got the apple style going on, then yeah, keep your style and get the iPod. but comon, don't undermine other similiar products if they really do have good features.
