  You're dead right Gabriel.
  If you placed those two seemingly unconnected objects together with no knowledge of their eveolution, you'd be mystified if some said, hey, i reckon these are oth related and perform a similar function.

  That's where we are with geology i believe.

  Also, before the early 1800's any mysterious big bones were generally ignored because they didn't even fit into the bibiles literaual interterpretaion
