If you are going to click the little red x and have the program minimize then to open it back up youre going to have to go back down to your dock and open it back up anyways...which is the same as if you had just closed it in the first place. So in essence the little red x is the same as the yellow minus...so whats the point?"
No... closing a document isnt the same thing as minimizing. The point is it takes a few seconds to launch a program, and it seems to be no problem to leave them all running but idle. Usually, I'm selecting/launching documents to work on, not launching programs.
