Expect a cold shitty winter here in Ottawa that will bring you down to the ground if you've never experienced one (if you are from the Left Coast you will find it bitter!). As far as rent here - a nice 2 bdrm in a decent area (Sandy Hill, Glebe, Old Ottawa South, Centretown, Elgin St) will run you approx $1200. Cheaper to live over the river in Hull (2 bdrm approx $800), but Hull is not quite as pretty as Ottawa. As for design jobs in Ottawa: with your experience try McMillan, or Venture.
