If you can afford to live in the city with the design job... then do it.... be with your wife and do what you love...
ok put it this way.... make money and live in a town thats boring with no wife to come home to doing a job that doesnt require using the area of your brain that most enjoys work.......OR..... be in the biggest playground on the planet for art and come home to your wife who would much rather you be happy and be with her then send her checks...
dude.....move back to nyc....this isn't a question...call the people today and say yes and move....
