I see MGS2 as kinda like Matrix:Reloaded, where the third entry in both trilogies has the chance to salvage the second and redeem it all. Matrix fucked it up, but Kojima has real passion and dedication to this. He's talked about what a toll developing MGS1 and 2 had on his life, and he has thought of quiting many times and hoped to pass the torch.
