you're entitled to your opinion.
many films that are called classics are not contemporary now (obviously) but have to be put in their time and place to fully appreciate. This is something that not everyone wants to bother with and why should they? I do, but i love film and the whole history of it. just because i do doesn't mean anyone else should. nor should they be considered classless because they don't want to.
film is an artform and you are entitled to appreciate what's happening now without appreciating what came before or what helped to evolve it to what it is now.
there are too many 'art-snobs' in all aspects of media. let people enjoy what they will and get over yourselves if that's too hard. (just don't call yourself an expert if you have no real depth of knowledge in it's history, styles or form).
