i dont know much about hitchcock to comment on that.
but watch citizen kane and make sure you watch the extras. they talk about stuff like building camera's into the phreakn ground to give look at someone from an angle to give them the appearance of an authoritive figure or something.
also death of a salesman had the innovative technique i believe of zooming in on a subject while moving backwards to make the background look wierd or something i dont remember, but if it werent for films like citizen kane, there wouldnt be stuff like pulp fiction.
show your grandchildren the matrix 40 years from now and they'l be more entertained at church...know what i mean?
