well. being an athlete, and playing double a baseball for a few years, i can say there is no excuse for running up in the stands. getting heckled and having shit tossed at you is part of the game. you deal with it. part of being a true athlete is the mental part of the game that goes along with the physical. being mentaly tough enough to handle it. someone throws something at you and it hits you while your lying down like a jackass on the score's table you deserve it. get up and watch security hall his ass out.
i remember a game where jordan stole the ball, took it down court and dunked over the shortest guy on the team. a fan from the stands could be seen standing up heckling jordan saying 'what, big fuckin man, dunking over him, i bet you think your a hot shot don't you... he's the smallest guy on the...' and before he could finish the fans team gave up the ball on a steal and jordan proceeded to drive down the court and dunk over their 7 foot 1 inch center. as he's running back down the court you see jordan raise his hands and ask politely 'was he tall enough?!?' shut the fan the fuck up. jordan was a bad ass who was mentaly tough. he could have easily run up into the stands and blasted this guy but instead played his game and got his revenge the right way. and THAT is in every sense of the word a professional athlete. not these fucking sissy thugs in question.
